The Walter and Suzanne Scott Kingdoms of the Seas Aquarium opened April 1995 at a cost of $16 million.  It is a spectacular display of marine and aquatic life.

It contains 71,000 square feet of Arctic, coral reefs, Amazon river and other aquatic habitat.

The penquins and puffins display is a very well done display. It features 4 snow machines that can produce 20 tons of snow daily, and a 55,000 gallon tank for the penquins swimming pleasure.  You can observe this display right on the web here via a web camera.

The highlight of the aquarium is the 70 foot long shark tunnel.  You can walk the ocean floor, 17 feet below the surface of a 900,000 gallon salt water exhibit.  There are sharks of several different species beside and above you.

This aquarium is one of the best aquariums in the world, it features exchange programs and propagation programs with other public aquariums.

Don't miss this amazing display when you go to the zoo, or, stop for a quick visit just to see the aquarium if your time is limited.
