Omaha Trail System

The trail system in Omaha, Nebraska consists of multiple paved trails, typically running north to south.  The trail system is maintained by the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District.

The main trails follow the banks of the Papio Creek, and are flat to gently rolling.  On weekends the trail is bustling with joggers, bikers, and roller bladers.  Any activity on the trail is great for your fitness, and no matter where you live in Omaha, the trail system is probably very close and easily accessible.  If not, there are ample points along the trail to park.
While the trail is a great way to get out and enjoy Omaha, it does have a drawback-there are no trees along the trail.  Make sure you bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated as you enjoy the trail.

Here is an overview of some of the best trails in the system

Lake Zorinski
One of the busiest trails in the Omaha Trail System, Lake Zorinski provides a great view of the lake as you ride.  It is 7.4 miles around the full length of the lake.

Big Papio
At 9.8 miles, this is a really nice section of trail - there are no street crossings - you can pass under every major street on this paved path.

Keystone Trail
One of the most popular Omaha Trails, the Keystone trail begins at 90th and Fort and extends all the way to Bellvue.
